Bhoomitra Sena Club
Aim :- Environmental education has become an inevitable tool in creating awareness on imperatives of environmental sustainability. BhoomitraSena Club, an idea conceived by Directorate of Environment & Climate Change under Department of Environment and Climate Change serves this purpose. Agencies like Kerala State Pollution Control Board, Kerala State Biodiversity Board and Kerala Suchitwa Mission extend support to this programme. The BhoomithraSena club of Sree Narayana College for Women is aimed at encouraging college students to appreciate the environment, provide environmental education opportunities, encourage them to react positively to environmental issues and make students practice and advocate sustainable life styles.
Nature of activities under Bhoomitrasena club
- The club organizes seminars, debates, lectures field visits and talks on environmental issues.
- It also arranges visits to Wildlife Parks, environmentally degrading areas etc.
- Actively involved in initiatives to tackle the issue of solid waste management.
- Other activities include cleaning and maintaining the polluted or environmentally degraded sites, planting and maintaining trees in the campus.
- Action based activities like tree planting, cleanliness drives both within and outside the college campus
- Provides entrepreneurial training to girl students so as to create avenues for self-employment in the future.

Activities of Bhoomitrasena Club (2019-20)
- Observed World Environmental day on June 5, 2019 by conducting an environmental awareness session followed by an environmental oath.
- launching the campaign of Plastic Free Campus on 7 .07.2020.
- Participated in the SwachhBharath Rally and Beach cleaning drive on 30.07.2019
- Ozone day celebrations on 17th September 2019
- Sapling distribution to the students sponsored by the Horticorp to create an awareness on sustainable environment
- Students participated in the Plastic prevention Rally organised by Kollam Corporation on Nov 1st 2019
- As part of the cleaning campaign , a five day Ashtamudi lake cleaning was initiated by the club members
- Observance of Anti plastic carry bag day in the campus
- Set up a vegetable garden in the campus with the support of Homescience department
- Workshop on paper bag making on 10/10/2020
- Implementation of Green Protocol in the campus
- Documentary show on plastic pollution and its hazards on 2/03/2020
