Department of Zoology

     The Department of Zoology was started in 1959 under the headship of Prof K. Karunakaran. Ever since its inception the department has been promoting curricular and co-curricular activities. The Department has one Associate Professor and four Assistant Professors. Two teachers of the department are research guides of the University of Kerala and two PhDs have been produced by one of them. The Department offers B.Sc Degree in Zoology. The department is equipped with several instruments in the laboratory for undergoing elaborate research. We have a zoological museum with maximum collection of specimens from the animal kingdom. Both faculty and students have published several papers in National and International journals. Faculty members have projects funded by various central agencies and some of them are members of various national and international organizations. Collaborative research schemes are also being operated in the department.
